Where it All Started – The Bahamas
If you’ve joined us on our Parrish Heads in Paradise vacations in the past, then you know it’s all about bringing like-minded Trop Rockin’ people together for a vacation island adventure filled with music and fun. Our first trip was over a decade ago back in 2010. It took place on the island of Abaco, in the Bahamas. It provided everything we could ever ask for. A tropical setting where we could enjoy a great vacation with the same goals in mind, beautiful beaches, plenty of live music, great snorkeling and diving, island hopping, sightseeing, and the best beach bars around.
The Mandalay Years
In 2015 we picked up shop and moved south, way down south, to the Grenadines. The setting, Grenada, where we boarded and set sail on the now infamous Mandalay! Those were glorious times indeed and four incredible years of fun down in the lower latitudes. We’ll never forget our many nights singing and dancing on the top deck beneath the moon and stars, touring islands like Mayreau, Canouan, Carriacou, and swimming and playing on the beautiful beaches of Sandy Island and the Tobago Cays.
Down in Belize – 2021-2023
Ahhhh the three spectacular years in Belize. We won’t ever forget the island of San Pedro where we called the Sunbreeze home for a week. Out on the reef snorkeling at Hol Chan Alley, the wonderful sunset sails enjoying rum punch and singalongs, the daytrips to Caye Caulker, the golf cart caravans down to Secret Beach, and the many late nights around the Blue Water Grill tiki bar. Thank you San Pedro, you served us well, it’s now time to pick up anchor and sail to our next destination. Here we go folks, Parrish Heads in Paradise 2024 – Playa del Carmen!

We arrive and check in on Wed. July 17, 2024. We’ll stay five nights, and depart on Mon. July 22. The host resort, the luxurious all-inclusive ROYAL HIDEAWAY PLAYACAR! Boasting 6 restaurants, 3 bars, 6 pools, a stunning white-sand beach, and discounted group rates starting at only $155/nt per person! To get there we’ll fly into Cancun (CUN), we’ll then have a shuttle waiting on you for the 38-mile trek south to Playa del Carmen. Check out this beautiful resort!
What’s a Parrish Heads Vacation Really Like?
In general, our Parrish Heads island vacations are geared for folks like you and me that love traveling, exotic island destinations and new adventures, authentic local cuisine, see-the-sights day trips, beautiful beaches, snorkeling or scuba diving, and especially our beloved genre of Trop Rock music. We see it year after year, happy people, friends, and couples spending their vacation together at these beautiful destinations. Just look at all these pretty smiles from over the years. Did we have a good time or what!
So What’s Different About This Vacation?
Parrish Heads vacations are quite unique in that most Trop Rock events, at home and abroad, center around the music performances…..and you pretty much stay put. Yes music is a big part of our events for sure, but our focus is on the V word….vacation! We’re not going to ask you to sit around and listen to guys and gals pickin’ guitars all day and night. Yes you’ll be getting a lot of live music from yours truly, along with talented local musicians along the way, but you’ll also have plenty of time for the beach, island hopping and excursions with a whole bunch of your friends (old and new), and basically enjoying YOUR summer vacation, Parrish Heads style
Bottom line, you won’t find a more affordable way to enjoy a summer vacation for Trop Rockin’, adventurous island hoppers like us. JUST So let’s keep the party going! Five nights, six days in the Mexican Riviera…..let’s get to it. Here are just a few of the things on the schedule.
Welcome to Mexico Meet ‘n Greet!
It’s been a long day of traveling and you’re ready to wind down! Once we get checked in we’ll all meet at the Infinity Pool at happy hour for the meet ‘n greet. Wait, we’re at an all-inclusive, it’s open bar! You’re going to be spending your vacation with many people you know, and a lot of people you don’t. It’s time to change all that….introductions are in order, let’s get this party started!
Day Trip to Cozumel!
This one’s going to be fun. We’ll take the Ultramar Ferry from Playa del Carmen over to Cozumel. Once there we’ll split up for a bit, spend some free time exploring the beachfront, shops and the sights and sounds of the downtown area. The idea here, to get primed for some serious barhopping, island style!
We’ll meet at Senor Frogs where we’ll board the Original Cozumel Bar Hop Tour. Off we go….from there we spend the afternoon touring the east side of the island where we’ll enjoy secluded, breathtaking beaches, unique bars, great cocktails, local food, and amazing views.
Tulum Mayan Ruins & Cenote Tour
Time to get immersed in the splendor of the Mexican Riviera’s fascinating history. It’s time for a day-trip to Tulum’s archaeological ruins, along with stops at a cenote or two. We may also include a stop at one of the most famous cenotes in the area, Rio Secreto!
And by the way, what’s a cenote? Turns out it’s the Mexican version of an ancient underground cave or sinkhole. Keep in mind, seeing as how this is our first Parrish Heads event in the Playa del Carmen area, we’re researching all the best excursions in the area, and will be narrowing down and fine tuning this one as we roll through the coming weeks and months. Stay tuned!
Catamaran Party & Snorkeling Tour
Time to hit the water! A super fun full day on the water awaits us. We’ll board a catamaran right there in Playa del Carmen and cruise out in the Caribbean and enjoy incredible snorkeling on one of the many beautiful coral reefs. Buffet lunch and open bar included!
Going Out in Style
Our last night will be spent at one of the Royal Hideaway’s 6 restaurants. You’ve waited all week to dress up in your finest island attire for our final dinner event of the week. This is a Parrish Heads tradition, a fun evening of more outstanding cuisine, tons of photos for the walls back home, and oh yeah….maybe a shot or two.

Unlike past years, there is no event registration for 2024. Simply book your room here (registration link down below), and wallah, you’re then registered (please read detailed info down below). Again, please DO NOT BOOK THROUGH THE RESORT WEBSITE as we have group rates in place only available right here.
For our event there is one room type to choose from, the elegantly decorated Luxury Room (available with either 2 queen beds or 1 king). All rooms have either a balcony (2nd & 3rd floors) or terrace (ground floor).
GROUP RATES (5 nights):
-2 People: Luxury Relax Pool (king bed) – $1,780 ($356/nt) ($178/nt pp)
-2 People: Luxury (2 queen beds or 1 king) – $1,660 ($332/nt) ($166/nt pp)
*Hotel rates INCLUDE all taxes, fees, and gratuities.
When making your room choice, spend some time on the resort website, then come back here to book it. All the info you need regarding the resort is on the Royal Hideaway Playacar website.
If you want to stay longer than the 5 nights and extend your stay a night or two (either on the front end, back end, or both), go ahead and book the 5 nights here, then send me a message requesting the additional nights you want to stay. I’ll then send you an invoice for the additional nights you’ve requested. Yes, the same rate will be honored, so stay as many nights as you wish.
After registering go ahead and book your flights into Cancun (CUN).
AIRPORT SHUTTLE. You’re also welcome to prepay for the round-trip airport shuttle. Depending on traffic, it’s about a 40-45 ride from the airport to the resort.
